Sometimes at the end of a hectic day when we want to feel better we immediately reach for things or people that may not be the best choice. It’s easy to want to self-soothe with alcohol, sugar or foods that don’t nourish us. Usually we end up feeling worse after the act. But if we can sit long enough to listen to our body we will know what we need. Maybe it’s a nap, or a phone call to a friend. Maybe it’s quiet time alone or a great sweaty workout. Whatever it is, let the answer rise up in stillness.
