Sticky Balls

“My mouths watering just thinking about those balls”- SNL skit with Alec Baldwin

Since starting my clean eating lifestyle over a year ago I’ve come up with what I believe to be healthier versions of sweet treats. One of my favs are Sticky Balls aka Protein Balls aka Schweddy Balls (SNL reference in case you didn’t know) These little chunky balls of deliciousness are packed with protein and fiber.

– One scoop Vanilla whey protein

– Two scoops whole oats uncooked

– One Tablespoon or more Unsweetened Cocoa

– Two big spoonfuls of natural peanut/almond butter

-Dash of cinnamon, water to moisten

Get your hands in there and mix this up. It will be sticky and you may need to add more oats or water depending on consistency. Roll into golf ball sized balls and place on plate to chill in refridge. You can also roll them in unsweetened coconut for Hairy Balls.

These are a great alternative to expensive, chemically sweetened store bought protein bars. As you eat less white sugar and artificial sweeteners your tastebuds will adjust surprisingly quickly. You can add a little honey to these balls if you must 🙂

    hmmm, i think i’m going to make these after my upcoming juice cleanse; they sound pretty darn good!
